And now for something Completely Different...

HI.
Hello My Friend.
It has been so long.
Your haircut seems SO long ago, and now you're going to Vienna!?
(Jealous much.)
I am here to share something with you that we haven't really talked about... very much...

I LOVE food. And cooking. And BAKING. Gawd. I just can't get enough.

(I think it helps that I can covet a recipe or a new spice or doohikky to add to my collection and it's not going to set me back quite as much as those new shoes, say, and I don't have to feel quilty about greedily adding to my collection ... as long as I keep those cream filled, butter packed recipes to a minimum... "I can't promise I'll try. But I'll try to try.")

Partly because I'm not shopping so much anymore - I thought I would share some faves with you here: Recipes, gadgets, droolworthy stand mixers. And foodprocessors. And blogs... And I thought you could share right back. Who knows, we could end up getting into the dangerous realm of PioneerWoman style step by steps!

(I couldn't even choose which recipe to link to so I chose 2!)

I love wandering through kitchenware stores in search of that one perfect thing.

last month it was measuring spoons.
Aren't they perfect?
They fit into spice jars and {here's what seems to be a shocking design concept} they don't tip over!

It seems a little odd, but recently I've had this very strong feeling right around that time of the month that there are certain things that, AS A MOTHER, I just want to be able to whip up perfectly at a moments notice. Scones. Muffins. Cakes. Macaroni and Cheese. Yes I said it and No I'm not pregg...I just feel like that it is on my horizon and I don't want to have a screaming 2 year old tugging at my pant leg while I learn how to make a white sauce.

Does this make any sense to you?

And now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to go face plant in one of these.
Avec Turkey Bacon.

PS. I'd really like to learn how to link to a url and not have to paste it in, and instead could write: "...dangerous realm of PioneerWoman style step by steps!" and have each set of blue words be a different link. Does Gavin know how to do this? I googled and had No Luck.

I'll ask Gavin about that- I'm sure he could give us some insight.

I also love recipes and cooking and baking! I just spent the afternoon at Zoe's and she is SUPERMOM. She has fantastic cookbooks that I covet (I have a problem with cookbooks - I just sold like 25 and now I'm slowly buying more to fill the void).

1) a new Moosewood cookbook: vegetarian and fish

2) can't remember, but it's for cooking with your kids. So cute! Homemade butter, homemade yogurt, amazing pear tartes, etc. Maybe we should let her in on our blog? Or start a NEW blog with Zoe for mothering? She could teach us so much...

Hey, do you want to??? That would be a beautiful way for you and Zoe to connect again (I'm being pushy, but I love you girls most in the world and I want to see you in each other's lives again).
